BIG NAMES!!!

Bill Miller, Grammy and Nammy Award Winner
and one of the best known contemporary Native American musicians, played a drum purchased by Kris Lasher from The Drum People at the 2006 Solarfest in Vermont.  In October 2007, Bill Miller picked out his own 18" cedar drum from The Drum People and performed Praises with his new hand drum in concert at Cartersville, GA.  http://www.myspace.com/billmillerofficial/

Arvel Bird, Two-time Nammy award winner.
  Arvel Bird
performed with a Little Badger powwow drum at the 2006 Native American Music Awards in Hollywood, Florida.  Arvel was named 2007 Native American Artist of the Year.  Keith Little Badger is building Arvel's new electronic powwow drum.  Arvel's CD, Arvel Bird and One Nation, features Cheryl Talking Bird's artwork on CD insert.  Also, look for Arvel's new electric powwow drum - Keith built a beautiful drum with four birds at the four corners of the drum stand (birds, get it, Arvel Bird!).  Arvel will also be carrying the pine Plains style drum line at his performances.

Mike Serna, Winner of the National 2006 Native American Flute Festival. Check out Mike's new CD, where he plays a Little Badger drum on several cuts.  Mike also builds builds beautiful flutes.  Buy one of this Award-winning artist's CDs.  Find them at http://www.mikeserna.com.

Andy Wasserman, Musician, composer, performer.
You have heard his music on TV networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), A & E, the Learning Channel.  We could go on, but
read Andy's bio.  He is holding a Little Badger drum painted by Cheryl (the Mother Earth Turtle) and to beneath the drum is a beaded drum stick with matching turtles also created by Cheryl.

Peter Phippen, 2003, 2007 NAMMY Nominee for Flute Music.
He purchased and played a drum from The Drum People at the 2004 Musical Echoes Flute Festival  in Ft. Walton Beach, FL (Nationally Acclaimed Flute Gathering)!!!  Peter is a Canyon Records Recording Artist.

Allen Sockabasin, Author of "Thanks to the Animals" and other books. Allen is a Passamaquoddy Native American, from Northeastern Maine.  Fluent language teacher and speaker, Allen has used his many talents to share his culture with children and adults everywhere.  He now uses a hand drum from The Drum People in his live presentations of song and story telling.  His books can be found at http://www.tilburyhouse.com/Children%27s%20Frames/child_thanking.html.

Frank Standing Eagle Taylor, Touched by the Hawk.  Native American Flute Maker and Flute Singer, Frank uses a drum from The Drum People on several tracks in his latest CD.  You can find Frank's flutes and CDs at his website: http://www.standingeagleflutes.com

Charmin Little Humming Bird Richardson.  Miss Indian Alabama 2009 sang her winning song on a drum built by Keith Little Badger of The Drum People.  We are so proud of Charmin.  Good luck, gal, keep on succeeding!  Show the world what Native People can do!

NATIVE AMERICAN NATIONS!

Wampanoag Tribe, Massachusetts.  The Wampanoag host an annual powwow and purchased a 36" powwow drum from The Drum People.  They play their drum at the powwow and use it for tribal ceremony purposes.  Keith Little Badger was honored to be the drum-maker for this proud Nation.

Nanticoke Tribe, Deleware.  Word spreads fast.  Elders from the Nanticoke Indian Association, Inc. ordered a 36" river-recovered cedar powwow drum from The Drum People to use at their annual powwow and in tribal ceremonies.  Keith Little Badger built their drum with love and respect for this great nation.

Muskogee Creek Nation.  Bruce, FL.  The only recognized Creek tribe in Florida plays a 36" powwow drum at its spiritual events.

Maliseets Tribe, Moulton Band.  Littleton, Maine.   While the 2000 Census reported just a small number of Maliseets People, their culture and traditions survive in the indigenous People who comprise this Northeastern Tribe.

New England Coastal Schaghticoke Tribe.  Their first contact with Europeans occurred in 1699 in northwest Connecticut and eastern New York.  Like many tribes, they lost their land.  Then the government said, "without tribal land, you cannot be a tribe."  This nation fights for its culture, its recognition and wants its land back!

Professional Powwow Drum Teams!

At many powwows in the southeast, at least two of the drums playing are Little Badger Drums from The Drum People.  THESE MEN WIN NATIONAL DRUM COMPETITIONS, AND THEY CHOOSE OUR POWWOW DRUMS TO GET THE JOB DONE!   If you want to make it to the top, choose the right equipment, and practice a lot.  Here are a few examples:

  •    All Nations (Cherokee) - North Carolina
  •    Battle Scar (Shoshone, Hopi) - Arizona
  •    Big Soldier Drum (Sans/Faux) - Iowa
  •    Bad Water Singers - Alabama/Tennessee/Georgia
  •    NVHI Drum Group, (Cherokee) N. Carolina (Sonny 828-497-9435)
  •    Lords of the Plains (Otto Mahsetky's drum) - Oklahoma
  •    Red Bird Jr. Singers (Intertribal) - Florida
  •    Red Bird Sr. Drum (Intertribal) - Florida
  •    Silver Bird Singers, (Intertribal) Georgia
  •    Deep Rock (Intertribal) - Spirit Lake Indian Reservation, North Dakota

If you play on a Little Badger drum and don't see your name here, email us and we'll add you to our list.  We appreciate all of the wonderful Native American powwow drum singers who trust Keith to build their drums!

The Drum People have sold drums all over the world, including Isreal, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Russia.

When you attend hand drum competitions at a powwow, look for the brown feather and the distinctive blue signature of Little Badger.  Friends are always amazed when they find our drums all over the country.  They call and tell us, "Hey, I saw one of your drums in Alaska, Wisconsin, Texas, Maine, Minnesota, Idaho, etc.  I told people next to me that I know that guy!  I know Keith Little Badger!"
